A Tale of Tiles

Pivotal Cloud Cache (PCC) is a opinionated, distributed, highly available, high speed key/value caching service. PCC can be easily horizontally scaled for capacity and performance. PCC is optimized for specific use cases which are expressed as plans within the PCC tile.
Cloud Cache is designed for easy provisioning of dedicated, on-demand clusters in a few steps and just a few minutes. Cloud Cache is purpose built, with separate caching plans for each common caching pattern. The first release of Cloud Cache is built for the look-aside caching pattern. This focus makes Cloud Cache easy to configure and setup because a large number of settings are preconfigured based on caching pattern. Cloud Cache is available in several plans to fit specific requirements. Plans can be configured further to meet specific requirements.
Cloud Cache allows operators to configure a range of service plans to fit the needs of their application developers. Capacity consumption and the associated costs can be controlled by setting instance quotas. Quotas are set at two levels: the maximum number of instances across all the organizations for a plan; maximum number of servers that can be deployed in a service instance for a plan.
Cloud Cache is available through the Pivotal Cloud Foundry Marketplace where it can be accessed and installed as a service on OpsManager.

Cloud Foundry Security Update
In March 2017, the PCF team released patches for 131 CVEs. More information can be found at http://pivotal.io/security. The most recent security releases for PCF include:
  • PCF Elastic Runtime 1.6.75, 1.7.60, 1.8.39, 1.9.17 and 1.10.4
  • PCF Operations Manager 1.6.31, 1.7.25, 1.8.17, 1.9.8 and 1.10.3

Please note that PCF 1.6x, 1.7x, PCF Elastic Runtime 1.6x, 1.7x and PCF Ops Manager 1.7.9 will reach end of general support on 4/30/2017.

Meet Ignacio, a Data Team Lead for Pivotal Support

ignacio_elizaga.pngI’m based at the Pivotal Cork office in Ireland where I work as a Team Lead for Pivotal Data products such as Greenplum, HAWQ or GPText. My responsibility is to ensure that our support team is ready to provide the best service to our customers and to make itpossible that all their technical problems are solved efficiently.

In my day to day, I work on technical issues with my colleagues, trying to provide the solutions that work best for our customers and keeping the development teams in the loop to get product defects fixed as soon as possible.

I have been part of the Pivotal family for more than two years and what I really like about being here is the fast paced environment we live in every day. I'm also really happy with the fact that we are culturally a very diverse company where you work with people from all around the globe!
