[Archived] How to determine what version of vFabric Enterprise Ready Server is installed (1039107)

Purpose

After installing Enterprise Ready Server (ERS) it is easy to forget which version you have installed. This article describes how to determine what version of web server (based on Apache HTTP Server) you have installed.

Resolution

You can run the server executable itself with the "-v" option (lowercase) to learn its version and use this to determine the version of ERS it came from. The executable is found in the bin/ directory of the apache#.#/ directory under the ERS installation directory. For the examples below we assume the apache2.2/ directory, but apache2.0/ or apache1.3/ may be present instead or in addition.

For Windows

Assuming ERS is installed in C:\ERS (adjust below accordingly), open a command prompt and enter:

> cd C:\ERS\apache2.2\bin
> httpsd.exe -v

For Unix/Linux

Assuming ERS is installed in /path/to/ERS, open a terminal and enter:

$ cd /path/to/ERS/apache2.2/bin
$ . ./envvars
$ ./httpsd.worker -v

Matching server version to ERS version

The httpsd version will be printed out; use the following table to determine which ERS version provided it.

httpsd Version ERS version
2.2.17 4.0.3
2.0.64 4.0.3
1.3.42 4.0.3
2.2.15 4.0.2
2.2.14 4.0.1
2.2.9 4.0.0
2.0.63 4.0.0
1.3.41 4.0.0
