How to disable encoded character parsing with Apache and mod_jk (2014640_draft)

[Preliminary] How to disable encoded character parsing with Apache and mod_jk (2014640_draft)

Resolution

When mod_jk is used in conjunction with Apache, UTF-8 characters are turned into strange characters. If the same URL is served directly by Tomcat, the problem does not exist.

Is there a way to configure Apache/mod_jk to treat the encoded characters as is?

In order for mod_jk to pass the URL as is to Tomcat, the following parameters need to be set for mod_jk:

JkOptions +ForwardURIEscaped +ForwardURICompatUnparsed

In addition, the following additional directive needs to be added for "/" for Apache:

AllowEncodedSlashes On
