PERC upgrade fails with no error in dca_setup.log

Environment

DCA V1

Problem

dca_setup fails to upgrade firmware version on host that has been reimaged.

Cause

This is a known issue (internal bug DCA-7537) where permission to one binary has not been changed after reimage.

You have to check PERC upgrade logs to find the issue .

[root@sdw7 ~]# cat "/var/log/perc_upgrade.log"

Done Upgrading PERC

In this case the issue was with permission on " /opt/greenplum/RPMS/RAID_FRMW_LX_R315624.BIN" file .

Solution

You have to give execute permission to the file and do dca_setup again for firmware upgrade.

[root@sdw7 ~]# chmod 555 /opt/greenplum/RPMS/RAID_FRMW_LX_R315624.BIN
[root@sdw7 ~]# ls -lrth /opt/greenplum/RPMS/RAID_FRMW_LX_R315624.BIN
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 6.7M Mar 1 2012 /opt/greenplum/RPMS/RAID_FRMW_LX_R315624.BIN
