Understanding RabbitMQ Support Cycle

Pivotal Technical Support always recommends that you upgrade to the latest RabbitMQ release to take advantage of new features and bug fixes. However, if you are unable to keep your system up to date understanding the RabbitMQ Support Cycle will help you plan the upgrade up front.
To determine the end of general support first of all check if your RabbitMQ is a commercial release or open-source version. Secondly check if its a major or a minor version. Then follow the following guidelines:
  • Major version: 3 years for both OSS and commercial
  • Minor version:
    • 12 months for OSS from release date 
    • 18 months for commercial from release date
In case of the version 3.1.0, which is a major release:
