How to Check the Pre-installed Buildpack Version for A Specific Elastic Runtime Version

Environment

Pivotal Cloud Foundry® (PCF) Versions 1.6.x and 1.7.x

Purpose

This article discusses how to check the pre-installed Buildpack version for a specific Elastic Runtime version.

Procedure

If you want to check Java Buildpack version for PCF 1.7, you can check it following the steps mentioned below:

  1. In release note of 1.7 http://docs.pivotal.io/pivotalcf/1-7/pcf-release-notes/p1-v1.7/runtime_rn_1_7.html, you can see CF Release version: 235.
  2. Check the CF release in github https://github.com/cloudfoundry/cf-release, select Branch -> Tags -> 235.
  3. Go to sub-dir: src -> build packs -> java-buildpacks-release -> releases/java-buildpack-release, you can see the Java Buildpack version is 3.6.

Additional Information

Please note that starting from version 1.8, Buildpack versions should be listed in the release notes.
