Education & Enablement News
Spring is in full swing as we continue to iterate on new programs and content to help our customers increase developer productivity and operator efficiency. As mentioned in the last newsletter, we’ve expanded our charter and revamped our name. Education & Enablement has three strategic services to help level-up and scale your engineering teams - Cloud-Native Developer Enablement, the Platform Acceleration Lab (PAL), and Pivotal Training.
Cloud-Native Developer Enablement
The Cloud-Native Developer Enablement (CNDE) service aims to establish developer enablement teams at our customers - so our customers can scale their dev teams without Pivotal services. We see the CNDE team as the capstone to our customer’s services journey. Like all Pivotal services, the team employs modern agile, lean, and user-centered design methodologies to deliver value to application development teams. The results of their work are tools, frameworks, and educational content geared to improve developer productivity. Typical deliverables include reference architectures, onboarding portals, and brokers for shared services.
PAL - Platform Acceleration Lab
The Platform Acceleration Lab (PAL) team in Boulder is pleased to announce a new course offering. To address the growing number of customers building .NET applications for Pivotal Cloud Foundry, we are launching a new Cloud Native Developer .NET program (CND .NET) on June 4th, 2018 in Boulder. This course is almost identical to our Cloud Native Developer for Java developers except all the code is written in C# and students learn how to build .NET Core applications on Pivotal Cloud Foundry using SteelToe. We expect this first class to fill-up quickly, so contact us to get registered today.
Pivotal Training offers product-focused, instructor-led classes across all geographies, including many live online (virtual) classes.
We have been working on updates to some of our most popular Pivotal Cloud Foundry and Spring courses. Our newly updated Pivotal Cloud Foundry Operator course (previously named, “Pivotal Cloud Foundry Administrator”) provides students with the theoretical understanding and hands-on experience needed to manage a Pivotal Cloud Foundry Installation. The revised 4-day course launches this month.
We have also relaunched our Pivotal Cloud Foundry Developer course based upon the latest content from the Cloud Foundry Foundation (CFF). Students taking the new course will be well prepared to take the CFF Developer Certification. This performance-based exam is designed to verify a candidate’s expertise using the Cloud Foundry platform and building cloud-native applications.
Finally, we have updated our popular Spring Cloud Developer course (previously named, “Spring Cloud Services”). The new 3-day course provides participants with in-depth coverage of cloud-native and microservices patterns using Spring Cloud and Netflix components to help solve challenges associated with running distributed, cloud-native applications over a microservices architecture.
